Some background information
Ma'di Urúléti is related to Lugbara-ti and Ma'di Moyo, but is its own distinct language.
In 2011 members of the community developed a trial orthography and an alphabet chart with technical assistance from SIL Uganda. A team of translators then went on to translate the Gospel of Luke, the first book to be published in the language in 2014. Following that, an oral translation project produced an audio version of the book of Genesis and most of the book of Exodus, and these have been shared in the community and well received. Since 2019 SIL Uganda has been providing technical assistance to a team of translators working on a New Testament translation. The trial orthography was revised in 2020.
